Bad Day!!!

I hope my bad luck will leave me alone soon. I went to get my US visa this morning. After I arrive at the US counselor, I found out that I forgot to bring my passport >_<". How stipend I am. Then I'm supposed to bring my birth certificate to get my special region passport done. However, I've found out that my mom gave me her married certificate instead of my birth certificate. O My God, I can't believe that ..What a day for me.

Afterward, I decided to go home and take rest instead, coz I woke up very early this morning.
I stay at home and help my mom to fix her computer, update my dairy, and fall asleep all day. Haha too tired. I didn't get enough sleep. I'll go to get my visa, and passport done again. I'll check everything!! Hope me luck!!

What a busy day

I've a lot done today. This morning I went to apply my Chinese traveling document, and my special region passport. However, when I went to apply my passport, the officer said that I have a very weird last name.

The officer: Are you a Chinese Citizen? I think you don't have a Chinese last name. Therefore, I need to see whether you have Chinese citizen or not.

MayMay: Yeah, I think so. (MayMay is all confused!!!)

The officer: Where did your parents' born?

MayMay: em… em… maybe in Indonesia/China?

The officer: How can you prove it?

MayMay: em... what kind of document can I prove it?

The officer: your parent's Hong Kong ID.

MayMay: O... I have my mom's Hong Kong ID. (Luckily, my mom came with me)

The officer: I need your birth certificate also.

MayMay: er…. I didn't bring it.

I think my last name is too special... therefore, they don't believe that I'm Chinese.
Well, after all these troubles, my mom and I went to IOU Salon to have our hair done. I can't believe that we spent 6-7 hours in the salon.

Safely Home

This morning Jason and I had a big breakfast in the Holiday Inn Hotel. Then we wait for the shuttle bus to the airport. After we’ve arrived in the L.A. airport, we got another bad news again. Our flight got delay!!!

To all of my friends: I'm safely arrived Hong Kong airport at 9:15 (HK time). Sing Sing (Ruby's boyfriend), Jason's Mom, and my Dad were there to pick us up.

Sorry Ruby, I didn't stop by Tokyo's airport, so I can't buy stuff for you sister... >_<

Flying Day

I had a hard time trying to wake up this morning, because I was packing till very late, and also having movie night. Funny that everyone woke up late, and we were rushing to finish some of the last minute thing, and start driving to the airport.

When we arrived at the airport, the staff told us that our flight was cancelled due to the bad weather condition over in Tokyo. They cancelled our flight, and told us that we are not flying out till Monday. O, My God. That's 2 days later!!

After we've talked to our Insurance Agent (Good thing that Jason bought the traveling insurance), they’ve arranged us a flight that cost more than $4,000 dollars per person. If we took that flight, we need to pay for the 2 tickets prices, and don’t know when we can claim the money back. So, we’ve decided to drive to another bigger and closer’s airport, try to find out some other option that we have.

Finally, (Thanks God) they’ve got us flight to fly out today, and arrive Hong Kong on Monday (1 day later than original, but still 1 day earlier than the ticket that they’ve arranged for us).
We stay at Holiday Inn Hotel in Los Angeles tonight, and we’ll leave again tomorrow.

Last day of work b4 Chinese New Year

Today is my last day in the office before going back to Hong Kong. I can't wait to be back! We had a "Farwell" dinner with our friends in Applebee's. They have the best resberry cheesecake. Yum Yum!!

The sad things is that Jason wasn't able to come with us, because he need to have dinner with the people

coming from Korea Seoul University. (Even though he doesn't speak Korean)

I'll miss you all:

Ruby: remember not to wash dishes without your gloves.

Semi: remember to chew your food, and eat slow.

Lucy: remember to sit straight.

WinWin: Have fun in your first LAC. Update me on your interview.

A Lazy Day

I skipped work today, because I need to meet with a professor, and get some stuff ready before I go back home. Plus, I'm a little lazy today. :p

WinWin is not feeling very good today, and I hope you will feel better soon!!! God Bless You!!!

I met Gary before I have my meeting today, and after my meeting. He was very happy the first time I saw him, but was very upset the second time. It is because he lost his whole set of keys. Therefore, I took him to check out another key for his apartment, and take him to the bookstore.

Gary - I hope you'll find your key soon.

Tonight, we've decided that we are going to prepare and cook dinner. When we were preparing the food, Ruby started crying. Of course I know why she is crying so hard suddenly, but everyone was so shocking. She was crying because she was cutting Onions, and her tears start dropping, and she started to pretend she is very sad. Haha.. Can you tell that why we can't stop laughing?

Tonight's Class

I have 2 classes tonight. One is a seminar class, and the other one is planning of health promotion. During the end of second class, suddenly my phone rang. Lin Lin... Lin Lin... MayMay was looking for the cell phone for a whole minute, and it's still ringing... Finally MayMay got the phone out from the jacket pocket. However, MayMay still can't shut the cell phone off, because of the "Key Lock" function. After that, I rush out of the door, and Professor Davis said "there is a $5.00 fine." :P Sooooo embarrassing. 好"瘀"呀!!!

Do you know who called me?! It was my mom calling me... :P (thanks mom) -- Just kidding.

Extra Money!!!

I've received a check from UNI yesterday for more than a thousand dollars – Shock, Shock, Shock. @_@ Where did the money coming from?! O, I've found out today! It is because my department was paying for my tuition last week, and the same day I've dropped a class. >_<>

Wow, that's a lot of money!!! Of course (MayMay is very honest ^_^) I've immediately contacted people over at the Business Operation, and fixed the problem. MayMay took the check over after work, and Winnie and Semi called at this moment.. O.. They need a ride back home!! (It it snowing today, very pretty!)

I am organizing information for my visa/passport visit. I've just realized that I'm not only need to apply for the U.S. Visa, but I also need to apply my Special Region Passport, and my China traveling Card. Hong Kong people can held 2 passport, one is the Great Britain (overseas) Passport, and now the Special Region Passport. (Very conveniences)

Brunch

After the skiing trip, my arm is very sore. But I still think it is very worthy.

I went to cat-sitting again, Fetzer was licking my face... because he was very bored. -- I guess.

This morning we had brunch (Breakfast + Lunch). 非常豐富的早餐加午餐.

After the brunch, I started to pack luggage. I have a looot of stuff to bring back to Hong Kong. There are Ruby's, Semi's, & KarLia's Stuff. My luggages are full already (I've not even pack my stuff yet.. :P) I've started packing already la... Jason, how about you?! :P

Skiing Trip

We went to ski today!!! We've been waiting for so long. Finally, we woke up at 7:00 a.m. today, get ready, and eat breakfast (@ McDonald) start driving to Sundown Skiing Resort at 9:00 a.m.

We had so much fun today! Semi, Ruby and Gary
have never ski before, therefore, there were
taking 1 1/2 hour of skiing lesson. Jason, Winnie
and I have ski before, so we were just having fun
skiing at the area. Even though three of us know
how to ski, we fall down... haha...

This is my third time skiing. I have a lot of fun even though I fell 3 times. :p The first time fell ... don't remember how.... the second time was trying to avoid Winnie, the third time was got attack from Ruby (from the back). Thanks Ruby!! :p Also, they (Winnie & Jason) claimed that I made them fell off, because I was looking at them... (電眼MayMay) :P

There are few msot funniest things happened today. Frist is that Semi was posting for the camera and forgot to get off the lift, and fell off. Also, Gary was trying to take group pictures for us, but all the sudden he started to slice toward us...

I love skiing!!! But Winnie and I have decided to play snowboard next time. haha... Thanks God for the great fun day!!!

Cat-sitting

Today me and Winnie went baby-sitting Shawn and Angela's Cat (Fetzer). Because they are not going to be here for the whole weekend, that's why I need to give Fetzer water and food. Fetzer is very very very cute... haha... We were playing with Fetzer for an hour. Winnie was screaming while Fetzer was trying to jump on her.. haha...very funny :p Of course, Winnie scared Fetzer, and he hided under the chair. That's how we can take the picture at the left. We were playing with Fetzer for an hour, and we decided to leave. But Fetzer kept walking in front of the door and tried not to let us go. >_<

Cooking at home

Today is our Friday night (usually we go out and eat), however, we've decided to cook at home. Winnie thinks that it feels like Chinese New Year. But because we don't have much stuff to cook, that's why some of us contributed mushroom, some contributed veggies, some contributed meat. SO WARM!!! 咁好難減肥!!!

First Class

Have I showed you my dog yet?! Here is my dog!!! His head look very big in this picture... haha... :p He is a very cute dog, just not very good with strangers.

I have my first class today for this semester!! A lot of work... unbelievable. I need to write a whole planning project for the class, plus I'll need to skip classes while I'm in HK. (I'm a bad student :P)

My mom always says that I have too much fun here in US, and don't know weather I've study and work hard enough. Haha... Oops!!! I'll have another kind of fun this weekend. We’ll go ski this Sunday... Haha... I can't wait!!! (Sorry mom can't help!!)

School Start Today!!

Can't believe that School has started already. Break is always too short... hehe... :P Even though school started today, but we still have a lot of fun at home. Winnie, Semi & I were making Suzhi for dinner. Thanks for Winnie cutting and preparing all the food, even she didn't wrap it very well... :p that's why we ate a lot of Suzhi during wraping process.

O... I have to share a good news!!! Winnie is finally one of our housemate.... welcome Winnie!!! Even though your room is a little weird.

First of all, I have to say CONGRATULATION Derek!!! I still can't believe you are married!!!! wow... I was shocked....still is :P Thanks for sharing the good news with me. Don't forget to send me some pictures!!! :p We all miss you from the office - Keep in touch!! It's feel so good to hear / see people that I haven't contact for a long ti. Thanks for responing!!!

Secondly, I need to welcome Gary (from Hong Kong also), he is arriving today. I won't be jealous that he was back in Hong Kong for 3 weeks, because I will go back to Hong Kong in 2 weeks. Haha.... I can't wait to go back, and see my family and friends, plus it's going to be Chinese New Year which I've missed for 8 years.

Wow..... this is my 1st posting!!! Happy New Year to everyone!!! In this new year, I hope that I can share some of my life and experiences with all of my friends, and/or get a hold of friends who have not been contacted or connected for a long time.

For your information, I'm currently working at the University of Northern Iowa - Camp Adventure as a Program Operation Assistant. Also, I'm studying for a master degree on Community Health Eudcation.

Right now I'm living in a house with few friends - Jason (my Fiancé), Ah Kowk (our dog) Ruby, Semi and Lucy. All of us are one big family. We have a lot of good time together. Here is my address: 3128 Alameda St., Cedar Falls, IA 50613. (in case you need to get a hold of me:P)
